Hanna Clements-Hart, JD, CPCC

Hanna coaches and advises individuals, partnerships, and organizations. Her pragmatic and inspired approach to strategic planning, team-building, and leadership supports clients in developing bold initiatives and sustainable practices for their businesses and personal lives.

Prior to launching her coaching practice in 2008, Hanna practiced law at internationally-renowned Davis Polk & Wardwell, serving as underwriter’s counsel in major securities transactions and advising clients in managing environmental risks in mergers and acquisitions, and at Ehrenreich Eilenberg & Krause, a boutique firm representing small, high-tech Israeli companies in a variety of corporate matters. She has worked as an editor, a community mediator, and president of the board of a non-profit. An avid world traveler, Hanna is culturally sensitive and able to immerse herself in new environments while maintaining her internal compass, a skill which serves her and her clients well.

The powerful alliance Hanna creates with her clients is both open and rigorous. Whether coaching individuals or consulting with businesses or non-profit organizations, she persistently questions the official story and challenges the accepted order while maintaining an atmosphere that encourages creativity and meaningful goal-setting. The result is sustained and sustainable improvement in performance and satisfaction.

Hanna received her B.A. in philosophy, cum laude, from Yale College and earned a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she helped found the Virginia Journal of Social Policy and the Law. She clerked for the Hon. Bernard G. Barrow on the Virginia Court of Appeals. Hanna completed coach training and certification at The Coaches Training Institute and received additional training from The Center for Right Relationship. She is a member of the International Coach Federation.

Client Reviews

“Hanna is great at keeping me on point, in a fun, motivating way. She helps me to stay focused on the big picture.” W.B., working mother in career transition.

“Hanna is inspiring, supportive, respectful and intuitive. She has a gift that can see/feel that creative part of you, that you were unaware you had. She has given me the courage to develop parts of myself that have been dormant for most of my life. But mostly, I have felt her support to take the time I need to heal. I would highly recommend her as a coach, and a woman of compassion.” B.K., cancer survivor.

“You’re really great at what you do. I want to let you know how much I appreciate it…it’s magical, really. Thank you!” C. La Moglia, small business owner.

“Hanna’s workshop about returning to work was a super learning experience. She didn’t hesitate to ask the hard questions and to not let anyone get away with the easy, but perhaps not full, answer. Hanna’s efforts and exercises helped me gain greater clarity around my larger goals and to put a path in place to help me achieve them in a way that felt manageable. She met each individual in the workshop where they were in the returning to work process and helped us move further along either in big steps or baby steps as was appropriate for each person.” E.S., mother in transition.

Extra-Curricular

When not coaching, Hanna spends much of her time with her three children and husband exploring San Francisco and the Bay Area. They love to enjoy the city’s museums, parks, and neighborhoods and to escape the city to go hiking in the redwoods or skiing in Tahoe. She enjoys reading, attending the theater or hearing live music, and eating good food. A passionate traveler, she has journeyed to many faraway places, including trekking in Nepal, hiking the Inca Trail, and temple-crawling in Cambodia, where it was her pleasure to immerse herself in other cultures and challenge herself physically and mentally. Since becoming a parent, her adventures have become less exotic, though no less challenging – from a month spent in France, to a recent road trip to Idaho’s Cascade Mountains. There is never a dull moment.
